Müzik dünyasının prestijli dergilerinden Rolling Stone, son olarak 2012’de küçük bir güncelleme yaptığı “Tüm Zamanların En İyi 500 Albümü” listesini daha büyük bir güncellemeyle tekrardan paylaştı.

Eski listeyi epey beyaz ve anti lgbtq+ bulan Rolling Stones yetkilileri, 2020’nin politik ve sosyal atmosferine uygun bir şekilde güncelledikleri listenin orijinalinde listede sadece 12 renkli sanatçıya ve ilk 50’de üç kadın sanatçıya yer vermişti. Kadın erkek ve ırksal eşitliği göz önüne alarak daha kabul edilebilir bir oranla listeyi güncelleyen Rolling Stones’un yeni listesinin bir numarasında Marvin Gaye’in 1971 çıkışlı What’s Goin On albümü yer alıyor. Eski listenin bir numarasında yer alan The Beatles’ın Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band albümü ise yeni istede 24. sırada kendine yer bulabildi.
