Hem sinema dünyası hem de popüler kültür için yılın en önemli gecelerinden biri olan 96. Oscar Ödül Töreni Los Angeles’ta gerçekleşirken ödüller sahiplerini buldu.
Christopher Nolan’ın son filmi Oppenheimer geceye kelimenin tam anlamıyla damga vurdu. Aday olduğu 13 dalda tam 7 Oscar kazanırken büyük ödüllerde fire vermedi. Başta En İyi Film olmak üzere, En İyi Erkek Oyuncu, En İyi Yönetmen, En İyi Yardımcı Erkek Oyuncu, En İyi Müzik, En İyi Kurgu, En İyi Görüntü Yönetmenliği ödüllerini kazandı. En İyi Uyarlama Senaryo’da aday olup kazanamamasıysa dikkat çekti. Sonra unutuldu tabii. Yine de orada ödülü American Fiction’a kaybetti.
Oppenheimer’dan sonra geceyi mutlu tamamlayan filmse Yunanistan keşke bize iteleseydi dediğimiz Yorgos Lanthimos’un Poor Things’iydi. 11 dalda aday olma başarısı gösteren Poor Things, Emma Stone’a kariyerinin ikinci En İyi Kadın Oyuncu Oscar’ını kazandırmasının yanı sıra toplam 4 dalda heykelciği kaptı.
Türkiye asıllı yönetmen İlker Çatak’ın filmi The Teacher’s Lounge’ın da yarıştığı En İyi Uluslararası Film ödülünü ise Jonathan Glazer’ın modern başyapıtı The Zone of Interest kaptı. Miyazaki’yse The Boy and the Heron’la kariyerindeki ikinci Oscar’ı 23 sene sonra kazandı.
